Tell Me, Who Are You Jordan?

I was born and raised in south west of Sydney in the mid 90s to parents with a vocabulary and taste of music. Anything from 70s Rock, 80s Pop, 60s Funk, I heard it all.

Not only did the songs interested me but the images as well. Photographs that captured iconic rockstars that cemented them on covers of magazines, posters, documentaries and merch. Freddie Mercury wearing his yellow jacket at Wembley Stadium, Jim Morrison's Jesus stretched arms, David Bowie's Aladdin Sane album cover, Robert Plant roaring along side the electric Jimmy Page stage. Images that stand for the rest of time even after the icon has gone.

In 2019, I was offered to model at a photography studio in the city (attempting to get an acting career started). Although I was not happy with the image results, studio manager said in our briefing "I've had a look at your personal Instagram page and noticed have an eye for taking photos. Why don't you set up a professional page showcasing your images?" Wasn't a bad idea so I did just that. I bought myself a Sony A600 for 3 years I photographed ANYTHING that interested me whether it was animals, statues, bands in pubs, scenery. Literally ANYTHING. It felt more of a hobby than a career.

In April of 2022, I entered a competition to win tickets to see an Oasis Tribute band (called Noasis) at the University of New South Wales. Sure enough, they messaged me saying that I won. During the conversation I had with Darren (their Liam Gallagher), don't why but I asked "I run a photography page on Instagram. Is it ok if I can bring my camera along to the show?" He said sure. A couple days out from the gig, Darren messaged me said "Ok Jordan, here's the plan. Meet us Manning Bar at UNSW early. Come visit us in the green room, we'll add you to the AAA list. Meet the band, have a few drinks on us, take photos for us and if we like them, we'll pay you $200 for them. How does that sound?"

How could I say no to that?

What I remember from that gig was zooning out, the feeling of this new world I was entering into. To be part of the band/crew instead of an ongoer. Noasis themselves were great and continue to be. Bringing in the RKID fanbase together, I also remember going into work the next day with only 2 hours of sleep thinking "this is the start of something special".

NOASIS, MANNING BAR, UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES, 30/4/2022

Then the circus began.

Over the last 2 + years, I have continued to climb. Shooting for local and international acts such as

The Weeknd, Slash, Blondie, Wolfmother, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper and Pearl Jam just to name a few.

I have also begun to take a crack at reviewing and photographing for How Good! Chronicles,

A media outlet created by my mate of over 10 + years, Paul Smith.
